Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Fairbanks, AK

Total Budget: $2,500

Area of Focus: Maternal and child health

Activity Type: Education: General

Summary: Provide reflectors to students and other community members to help with pedestrian safety

The winters in Fairbanks are dark and reflectors have been shown to improve pedestrian safety. We are proposing to purchase reflectors with the Rotary logo to distribute to Hunter Elementary School, a Title 1 school with approximately 400 students. We will coordinate with the school to distribute the reflectors to all the students. We are also planning to coordinate with a local coat drive to have reflectors available for anyone who would like one when they pick up a coat.

Club clarifies that when it agreed last year to lower its DDF request from $1500 to $1000, it also intended to lower its club contribution from $1500 to $1000. The club contribution in this case will be $1000, despite what appears on the Financing page.
