Clean water has been a continuing problem for this rural area, made mostly of small farms, for years. Drinking unsafe water, has lead to numerous health problems, especially intestinal distress and issues, as in other parts of the world. To obtain clean water can only be obtained by boiling the water or the use of chemicals, which. Are not available to thos living far from communities or cities. This has led to a cycle of clearing the land of trees and shrubbery to build fires, boiling the water, and repeating the process.
These funds will be used to purchase a water filtration system, proved effective at taking out 99% of contaminating and bacterial agents. Each system costs @ 18USD and is effective for three to five years.
The funds will be used to purchase filters from the GA2030 organization. We will educate those who will be using the filters, help with the assembly and placements in homes. (GA2020.org) Rotarians from the Loveland Rotary Club and the Tehuacan Manatiales Club (Tehuacan, Mexico) will be involved with the Agua Para Siempre organization in helping to deliver and assemble these unit.
We hope to begin this project in the fall of 2023 and complete it by the fall of 2024.
