Summary: Classroom construction (roofing)of kindergarden classroom
Rotary Club of Tempe Downtown began working with the residents of this village in 2021-22 Rotary year with the construction of a toilet block made possible by District Grant P-3808. Since then our adopt a village concept has provided the village with a bore hole well, tables and chairs, school supplies and a feeding program by the generosity of Rotarians and friends & family. All this in a effort to maximize the children's learning skills.
As word has spread, more students (275 from 172 since our last grant request) arrive to take advantage of education and more classrooms need to be built. As in most developing world countries construction is done piecemeal as funds become available. A third classroom has been built but lacks a roof, therefore this grant request for roofing materials & construction costs. We have and excellent relationship with the school administrator Sean Kinobe and the village has been visited and encouraged by members of the Source of the Nile Rotary Club. Source of the Nile has been a big help in procuring reliable sources of building materials. In addition every Rotarian in RC of Tempe Downtown is actively supporting the project. It should be noted that Mr. Kinobe is in DAILY contact with our club via Messenger
The toilet block bears the Rotary Masterbrand. Rotary will be well represented on other structures as well.
