Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Buhl, Idaho

Total Budget: $1,400

Area of Focus: Maternal and child health

Activity Type: Community Development: General

Summary: Two picnic tables in public park beside children's play structure for social health and parental supervision in Buhl, Idaho USA.

Buhl Rotary Club would like to purchase a picnic table to go under our Rotary Centennial Pavilion in Eastman Park. The Pavilion is beside an existing play structure and has one picnic table at this time. City officials have expressed a need for more tables near the play structure, so parents will have a place to provide close supervision for their children. There are other picnic areas in the park, but they are not near the play structure. Parents, caregivers and children will have a fun, safe and enjoyable area to gather for social and physical health.

The Buhl Rotary Club will order and assemble the table, anchor it to the designated area, and be responsible for its maintenance and upkeep.

A project with a total budget of $3000 is a tier 3 grant in District 5400. Tier 3 requires a 1:1 match. Change your financing to show $1500 coming from the club and $1500 of DDF. Tier 3 grants also require a detailed spending plan. The easiest way to accomplish this would be to upload a vendor estimate of the cost of the tables. This estimate will inform you and us as to the accuracy of your financing plan. Remember that tomorrow, June 1st is the deadline for signed applications. Please make the changes, additions and send for signatures by tomorrow. Call me if you have questions or need help. (208) 308-5617

Your 2023-24 district grant project will be included in D5400's block grant application to The Rotary Foundation in July. Do not place orders or spend money on the project until you hear from the district that TRF has approved our block grant, as you cannot be reimbursed for expenses incurred prior to TRF approval. Call Marianne Barker at 208 308-5617 if you have any questions. Thank you!

Please do not reply to this email. You should have received your grant by now, mailed to your club’s mailing address Aug. 11. We are using a bill payer service this year, and the envelope will look different than in the past. Please tell your treasurer to watch for it, and not to discard. Please call me if you don’t have your check (208) 308-5617. Ignore the physical address on the check – D5400 is still PO Box 9592, Boise, ID 83707.
