Project Description Country: USA Location: Arnold, Nebraska Total Budget: $1,250 Area of Focus: Water, sanitation and hygiene Activity Type: Health: General Summary: Rotarians will partially fund and build a fence surrounding the Arnold community's recycle trailers and garbage dumpster area. The recycle trailers and garbage dumpsters for the residents of Arnold are located in the center of our community. The area is a combined residential and business area. It sits on two main roads: the east and west road through town and the north/south road through town. Currently anyone living in the community or coming to visit cannot miss seeing this area everyday. There are six recycle dumpsters for cardboard, one huge trailer just for glass, two large trailers for paper/plastic/aluminum. Additionally, there are twenty dumpsters for garbage. While the local citizens are careful with keeping this area somewhat clean, there is still debris that gets loose. The fence will serve two purposes: -It will provide an attractive barrier between the dumping area and our residential/business area as well as from people traveling through (tourist). -It will contribute to keeping our community clean from loose debris. The Rotary Club will meet with the Village Board to ask for their financial support and help in erecting the fence. Rotarians will be responsible for fundraising and providing members to construct the fence under the supervision of the Village employees.
