The Kids Kingdom is an independent orphanage and home to 35 children in Maneadero, near Ensenada in Baja California, Mexico. The Kids Kingdom was founded in 1989 by Tomas and Maricela Shockey who continue to this day to dedicate their lives to orphanage ministry. The Kids Kingdom's mission is to meet the physical, emotional, relational, educational, and spiritual needs of the children that come to the orphanage from backgrounds of abandonment, neglect and abuse.

The finances of The Kids Kingdom are overseen by Friends of the Kids Kingdom, a US 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible as provided by the Internal Revenue code and applicable regulations.

he orphanage is comprised of the main living area for the children, four separate living areas for staff and visitors and a playground. The main structure is 35 years old. There are 8 bathrooms of varying sizes at the orphanage: a young girls' bathroom, young boys' bathroom, older girls' bathroom, older boys' bathroom, playground bathroom, main office bathroom and 4 bathrooms in the surrounding structures. Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed)

We have received an urgent appeal from Kids Kingdom. As they are emerging from what has transpired in the past three years and the fast-rising cost of living plus due to inflation, they have had great difficulty making their operational needs. The following are just a few examples of their daily operational needs:

• Feeding 40 plus kids, breakfast, lunch, dinner

• School transportation to different areas of the city

• Laundry, cleaning, dishes, homework which includes staff salaries

• Doctor's appointments, lab work, medicine

• After school activities, church, counseling

In light of the above, we propose that $2000 of this approved grant be redirected to the orphanage's operational needs. All expenditures will be accounted for and receipts provided.
