Project Description Country: Fiji Location: Savusavu Total Budget: $3,200 Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment Activity Type: Health: General Summary: A portable X-Ray machine for a dental clinic in Savusavu, Fiji. The Rotary Club of Savusavu has been doing health projects in their local community in Fiji. One of these projects is the acquisition of a portable digital X-Ray machine for their only (undersupplied and understaffed) dental clinic, covering the entire population of approximately 35k people. The Savusavu Dental Clinic provides the only Dental Services for the entire province of Cakaudrove at the Clinic next to Savusavu Hospital and every 2 weeks off-site, covering: 140 villages & ~5k Primary school students - with ~14k patients/year, with 4 dentists! The clinic is funded by the Ministry of Health but is greatly undersupplied. We would like to purchase a NOMAD Pro 2 Handheld X-ray System which has been quoted at $5,000 NZD, which is roughly $3,100 USD. There will be some additional cost for shipping. The Rotary Club of Savusavu will cover the extra cost through other sources if it goes over the total budget of this project. Installation is not required as it is a portable unit. Warranty is manufacturer's standard 2 years.
