Project Description Country: USA Location: North Platte, NE Total Budget: $1,500 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: General Summary: 300 Josh the Baby Otter books for kindergarten kids With the presence of the North Platte and South Platte Rivers, the interstate lakes and Lake Maloney, water safety for children is a critical need. The Joshua Collingsworth Memorial Foundation provides an entertaining program on water safety, geared to young children. With this grant, North Platte Rotary will provide water safety instruction to all North Platte public and parochial kindergarten classes, approximately 300 students. A Rotarian will discuss the Josh the Baby Otter book in each classroom, joined by Rotarian Josh the Otter in costume. Each child will receive a Josh the Baby Otter book, coloring book and sticker. Classroom presentations will be done the first week of May 2024.
