Summary: Fundraising Raffle for Trade and Vocational Scholarships & to Support Adolescent Behavioral Health Projects and Programs

While college scholarships abound in our community, few are available for high school seniors planning to attend trade or vocational schools.

For the last two years, our Club has conducted very successful fundraising raffles to provide such scholarships to high school students, thereby relieving the stress of paying for continuing career educational opportunities. These scholarships also provide recipients with the confidence needed to expand their education.

Rotary International President Gordon McInally and District Governor Don Fipps have declared behavioral health issues as key goals in '23-'24. As such, our Club will also focus on adolescent behavioral health educational projects/programs that address teen suicide, sex/human trafficking, teen bullying, and depression following nearly two years of the pandemic's lockdown, among other impacts on well-being.

Our fundraising raffle will provide recipients with, at a minimum, $2,500 scholarships each. Proceeds will also go toward adolescent behavioral health issues mentioned above.

Our raffle will raise additional funds over and above the District Grant amount. We aim to raise at least $30K by Club members selling raffle tickets from mid-January through March with winning tickets drawn in early April. We have earmarked $3,000 from the Club to match the District Grant. Proceeds will be distributed in April for both scholarships and ABH projects/programs.

We are respectfully requesting a matching grant of $3,000 from District 5340 to support our Club's scholarship and adolescent behavioral health education projects
