Project Description Country: USA Location: Naperviille, IL Total Budget: $2,000 Areas of Focus: Maternal and child health, Community economic development Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: 2023 Christmas Gift Program to support underprivileged children in the Naperville District 203 School District in Naperville, IL It is anticipated that 55 school age children will benefit and 35 Rotarians will participate. Provision of holiday gifts to dozens of children in financial need or homeless as identified by the Naperville Education Foundation and school social workers. Matching funds are made available through individual Club member donation of Cash and Gifts. Additional Gifts are purchased, or Gift Cards provided and distributed. This is a long-standing project of the Rotary Club of Naperville-Sunrise. The project is run in the Month of December with final distribution of gifts handled the week before Christmas. 35 Rotarians participate in a gift drive by either funding or purchasing christmas gifts for School Children identified by the School District Foundation as needy. Several members of the club gather the gifts and help distribute them to the children.
