Project Description Country: USA Location: Loveland Total Budget: $1,500 Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment Activity Type: Health: General Summary: Winter coats for housing insecure youth in Thompson School District. 814 students in the Thompson School District have been identified as housing insecure. 77 of these do not live with a parent or guardian and may live with a friend or on their own. Members of the Loveland Thompson Valley Rotary club will shop for winter coats with this grant money and deliver the coats to the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Act liaison at the school district, Erica Wooldridge. Erica will then distribute the coats to the most needy students in time for Christmas 2023. The Rotary members will personally contribute to this project, raising a minimum of $500 to add to the $1,000 Governor's Grant Mooney requested. Approximated 50 coats will be purchased.
