Project Description Country: USA Location: Wichita Falls Total Budget: $1,200 Area of Focus: None Activity Type: Education: Scholarship Summary: Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Month (out of 4 clubs) selected by Rotarians for recognition Individual Rotarians volunteer interview 4-5 youth selected from the Branch leaders of all the Clubs. The criteria for these youth is they are leaders at their club, meet academic standards, helpful with family responsibilities and goal oriented as to their education. Each month, the student who is chosen by the Rotarian, attends the local Rotary meeting, accepts the award, makes a 2-3 minute acceptance speech, and accepts a $100 monetary award. Each youth chosen during the year then enters the participation of Youth of the Year for Wichita Falls and then that Youth participates in the State Youth of the Year competition.
