Project Description Country: USA Location: Woodridge, IL Total Budget: $700 Area of Focus: The environment Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: Woodridge Rotary club is planting a Redbud tree at the Woodridge Park District to provide food for pollinators and educate the public to the need for pollinating insects. The Woodridge Park district and Rotary club of Woodridge, Il are committed to the 7th area of focus, the Environment, and has planted a large pollinator garden in 2021. Our goal is to plant areas with native plants and trees. This project will be located at the Fred C. Honeke Community Center where citizens of Woodridge can visit the tree. A tree and memorial bronze plaque will be designed and ordered in February and planted in late April or May of 2024. Rotarians will be at the planting and provide a coffee session for the general public to discuss the project and garden. The project will be publicized through the Woodridge park district and rotary club, on social media and through district 6450 newsletters.
