The Garden will be planted at the Entrance to the Museum in and 18x12 ft. area with the purpose of educating children on the importance of Pollinators and to assist Pollinators with a safe habitat. the Project will be a collaboration of the Dupage Children's Museum, the Cress Creek Garden Club and the Rotary Clubs of Naperville Sunrise and Naperville Downtown.
The $500 in grant money will be used to prepare soil, and purchase plants , annuals and native perennial plants. In addition, signage will be purchased. The Rotary clubs will participate in the planting of the garden and assist the Cress Creek Garden club with seasonal cleanup.
Publicity will be through social media, local newspapers, the Dupage Children's museum, and the Rotary Websites of both clubs and district 6450 environmental webpage. An estimated 15-25 Rotarians will participate and hundreds of children and their families that visit the museum will be educated on the need for habitats for pollinators.
