Project Description Country: USA Location: Anchorage Total Budget: $2,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Scholarship Summary: Anchorage Anchorage Midtown Rotary Club began awarding a $1,000.00 scholarship to a graduate from Alaska High Schools who earned the Eagle Scout rank during the 2021-2022 school year. Anchorage Midtown Rotary Club wants to continue awarding scholarships in 2024-2025. The club believes these awards recognize and affirm worthy youth by providing funds to help with the financial pressures of advanced education or training. Recipients submit an application together with a 750-1000 word essay on "The Rotary Four Way Test and Its Relationship to the Scout Law." Recipients are selected by a panel of club members based on the application and the content of the essay. The Club Treasurer signs all checks for disbursement of grant funds. A separate club member who is in charge of the grant, must sign / approve the voucher authorizing disbursement of funds from the grant. The grant reporting will be done by another Club member who neither authorized disbursement or signed checks disbursing grant funds. A separate ledger will be kept for the District Grant.
