Summary: Partnering to provide greenspace for The Door Emergency Youth Shelter in Fairbanks, Alaska
The Door Emergency Youth Shelter is overseen by the Fairbanks Youth Advocates. The Door was opened in 2012 providing a safe shelter for teens. In 2017 a Green Space Park was started adjacent to The Door.
Next Step Ministries is bringing in professionals to demolish the house adjacent to the The Door to create a much larger green space this summer. Fairbanks Youth Advocates (FYA) is responsible for renting the heavy equipment, tools and dumpsters to accomplish this project. Our Rotary project funds will be used in partnership with the work of Next Step Ministries and Fairbanks Youth Advocates to greatly enlarge this Green Space Park. The demolition is scheduled for this summer and should be complete by the fall of 2024.
