DESCRIPTION: Working with two local elementary schools that receive Title I funds for disadvantaged children we would provide winter clothing for children who come to school with out adequate warm outer wear. This could include boots, hats, gloves, snow pants, jackets and warm socks. We will also work with the Street Outreach Advocacy Program and the Red Door program for older homeless youth to help provide them with similar clothing.
TIMELINE: The clothing would be purchased and distributed for use in the winter of 2014-15.
ROTARIAN INVOLVEMENT: club members would talk with coordinators of the schools and youth service organizations and determine what is needed, then would purchase new and lightly used clothing and distribute it to the 2 schools and 2 programs for youth.
