Project Description Country: USA Location: Peoria Arizona Total Budget: $4,752 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: Provide dictionaries to 2276 3rd graders in 26 schools in the Peoria United School, Peoria AZ The three Rotary Clubs, Peoria, Peoria North and Glendale West will come together to put labels in the dictionaries with the four way test and the Rotary clubs names. Rotarians in teams of 2 or 3 will personally distribute the books in the classrooms. By providing a literacy tool to these children, in many cases this will be the child's only book at home. News articles will appear in the Glendale Star, Peoria Time, Clubs website and club social media. Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed) I have submitted the final report along with the bills for documentation. We were able to reduce the cost the the dictionaries this year. All three club enjoyed the process of working the the Peoria Unifed School District and all the 3rd grade children. Some of the children, this is the only book that they own. We do have money left and I need to know the process for reimbursing the District.
