Project Description

Location: Peoria, Arizona

Total Budget: $3,000

Area of Focus: Economic and community development

Activity Type: Community Development: General

Summary: Provide free clothing to hundreds of high school students in Arizona, USA, to make attending Prom affordable

Many low income high school students do not attend prom due to the high cost. We are providing hundreds of students free formal attire, to assist in making prom affordable. Giving young people the opportunity to dress up and feel good about the way they look builds confidence. Confident young people make better decisions. This project supports hundreds of needy youth. Clothing will be distributed at the end of April 2015. The project will be self sustaining after the initial purchase of supplies. The funds will provide equipment to create portable dressing rooms, clothing racks and hangers. Club members will work the event helping students select clothing.
