Project Description Country: USA Location: Alma, Nebraska Total Budget: $1,406 Area of Focus: Economic and community development Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: Up dates in the City of Alma's park. The whole community will benefit. Number one of a two part request: The community of Alma has a beautiful city park located on the west edge of Alma and recently due to storms and weather concerns several of the trees were destroyed. Our club wanted to be a part of replacing the trees and made plans to purchase 4 good sized trees to fill the void left in the damaged areas. The plan would be to have the trees planted by next fall depending on the recommendation for planting. The second project was to purchase two four foot park benches for the city park and locate them near the new children's playground equipment located in the NE corner of the park. One of our members observed that there was not seating close to the equipment and being a grandpa himself felt it would be a great addition to the area. Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed) We are now waiting for the installation of the trees and benches in the spring of 2015. Project is set for completion with spring weather. We are working with the city officials to get this done. The tress may not be planted until this spring.
