Summary: St. Paul Rotary Club will fund approximately 40% of start-up, non-food supplies for new afterschool program serving estimated 60 kindergarten - 6th grade students.


Recent City of St. Paul community survey indicated a need for after-school program for kindergarten - 6th grade students at-risk for graduation, for academic and for behavior failure. After-school child care lacks structure and appropriate adult supervision for some students.

Funding through the St. Paul Rotary Club will provide 40% of needed non-food supplies. Several Rotarians volunteered for a Wednesday afterschool program during the 2013-14 school year and will continue to participate in the program. The City of St. Paul Recreation Department is the fiscal agent; St. Paul Public School provides the space and day-to-day oversight of the program. Club funds were raised through a joint effort of th
