Project Description Country: USA Location: San Juan Capistrano Total Budget: $4,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Scholarships Summary: Funds to support the scholarship of two June 2015 high schools students Our club has consistently provided scholarship funds for two students at San Juan Hills High School. We have only been able to afford two $500 scholarships for the past 10 years or so. This grant request of two $1500 scholarships would allow us to properly recognize those students who exemplify Rotary. We typically choose someone from the San Juan Hills High School Interact Club because they are a very active club at school as well as in the community. We know these kids because we track their grades, their involvement in the community, etc. Any grant funds disbursed will go directly to the educational institution or to a 501(c)3 non profit organization on behalf of the student. No funds will be paid directly to the student as called for in the District grant rules. Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed) I mad a mistake in the original grant application. We are only requesting $2000 in DDF grant funding to match our donation of $2000, bringing the total to $4000.
