Summary: Rotary Park Renewal Project for children in Ontario, OR, USA


The Rotary Park in Ontario, OR is located in a low income neighborhood and is used for the summer meal program. The park is in need of renewal including shade trees and benches for local children and their families. Some park features including a baseball backstop are in an unsafe condition and will be replaced. The Western Treasure Valley Rotary club will match the district funds awarded to ensure project completion.

The park renewal project will begin the Fall of 2014 and will be completed by the Spring of 2015 before the end of the school year in anticipation of the summer meal program and heavier summer usage of the park.

Rotarians will be involved in all aspects on the renewal project from planning and fund raising to hands on tree planting and project work. The WTV Rotary club will also partner with key community partners like the Boys and Girls Club, the Boy Scouts of America and community professionals to magnify the club and district funds.

The hope and vision of this project is to "Light up Rotary" in a coordinated effort to renew the Ontario Rotary Park and by so doing light up our community, as well.

The project is complete and i have uploaded the final invoice for the work completed on the park and have uploaded pictures of the park.

You have not uploaded a final report, using the form available on the matching grants website. Go to your grant. In the description tab, click on Administration and you'll see the button to download the final report form in Word. After you've completed the report, save it as pdf and upload it to the documents area of the grant. Make sure your expenses match your receipts and that the revenue shown on the report matches the expenses. After uploading, go again to the description tab (Administration) and click on "reported". That will generate notification email to the district. Thank you!

The reports and supporting information for the renewal of Rotary (Laxton) Park consisting of a new area to serve school lunches during the summer have been audited as of this date, and documentation is sufficient to allow for the grant file to be closed.
