Project Description

Country: USA

Location: McCook Nebraska

Total Budget: $1,250

Area of Focus: Economic and community development

Activity Type: Community Development: General

Summary: All conecrete skatepark to benifit underserved youth

This will be an all concrete skateboard park, professionally designed by Grindline Skateparks. We have been in development for nearly three years. We have raised $119,631.00 toward the the final budget of $125,250. Fundraising is expected to be complete by June 12, 2015.

Youth in the community are hard pressed to find skatable elements in the community that are acceptable. While large sums of money are expended in our community toward team sports, many youth are not involved in those activities that still need safe places for recreation. Skating gets kids away from the television and computer to build strength and coordination and build relationships with their peers.

This application is for a single component of the park, the southeast hip, which is a specialized incline ramp, approximately 3' x 4'.
