ARC Lake, originally named after the Alaska Road Commission who's headquarters were nearby, is a landlocked lake which boarders the City of Soldotna and Kenai Peninsula Borough lands. This lake is stocked with a variety of fish each year. Our club 'adopted' this lake through the Adopt a Highway program, and have done a semi annual cleanup of the area for the past 4 years.
Although this site is visited often by local residents and tourists, alike, currently there are no picnic tables or defined areas for people to gather. Also, the parking lot is muddy and riddled with potholes. The proposed Arc lake improvement includes establishing a gravel parking lot, setting up picnic tables around the lake, and a memorial bench for visitors to sit and enjoy the lake. This is in partnership with the City of Soldotna who has agreed to place a trash bin, and to erect signage acknowledging our club's contribution.
The time frame for completion of the project is 12 months. The project funds will be used for gravel, benches, and picnic tables. Club members will assist with leveling the gravel as needed, and painting the picnic tables and bench. We will continue our service of cleaning up the site as well.
The budget will include:
3- Picnic tables @ $425 1275
1- bench @ 700 700

6" of new gravel 3700
