Project Description Country: USA Location: Goodyear AZ Total Budget: $1,250 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: United States Dictionaries for the Avondale School District (covers Goodyear & Avondale)Funds will be used to purchase 800 Dictionary/Thesaurus for the entire 3rd grade in the district. Rotarians will be putting Rotary labels inside each book showing that the dictionaries came from Rotary. Rotarians will also participate by distributing the dictionaries to all 3rd graders in the various schools. Rotarians will also address the kids, tell them a little about Rotary and what we do in the community. We also interact with the kids asking them about how they will use the dictionaries and what a thesaurus is.
