Project Description Country: USA Location: Kingman, AZ Total Budget: $3,200 Area of Focus: Economic and community development Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: Purchase a shade cover for the Little League Ball Park. Currently, there are no shade covers available over the bleacher at the Downtown Little League ballpark. This shade cover will provide protection from the desert sun/heat as well as protection from fly balls for the families watching. The Kingman Little League uses the Downtown Ballpark from March to September. Kingman hosts district and state tournaments so this shade will be beneficial for the 800 players families in Kingman and the out of town families for the tournaments. We will be teaming up with the Route 66 Rotary Club to purchase the shade cover for the bleachers and The City of Kingman Parks department will be installing the shade cover once it is purchased. The total cost of the project is $3,200 for the shade cover. We will be contributing $1,100, the Route 66 Rotary will be contrubuting $500 and we are requesting $1600.00 from the District 5490 Grant. The City of Kingman Parks Department will be building the shade cover in house.
