Project Description Country: USA Location: Gothenburg, NE Total Budget: $1,260 Area of Focus: Economic and community development Activity Type: Community Development: Volunteer Services Summary: Distribute Thanksgiving Meals to needy families in the Gotenburg community. Our club has identified needy families within the community that do not get to enjoy a nice Thanksgiving meal. We piloted this project last year by working with the local churches and working with our local grocery store we were able to distribute 20 meals at an average cost of $20 per meal. The meal consisted of all fixings to make a Thanksgiving meal for a family of four. The joy and life appreciation that our group experienced was amazing. For FY 2015-2016 our club would like to expand this to 60 meals by reaching out to our smaller neighbor communities and full-fill the additional need in our local community.
