Summary: Supply underpriviliged youth in Anaheim backpacks full of school supplies as the new school year begins.


Back pack School Supplies project: This is a community service project for school children from low-income families. These new backpacks loaded with school suppies will alleviate some of the peer pressure experienced by these children. Too many children in our community are falling behind in school and life before they even get started. This will help them with their self-esteem, creativity and confidence. Every member in the club will be involved either purchasing the supplies, backpacks or filling the back packs, writing personal notes of encouragement to the distribution of the backpacks to the children.

The School backpack program will begin and end on September 30, 2014 or when the grant has been approved. The entire club will participate in either buying the supplies, packing the backpacks or distributing them to the children. In addition to putting this story on the Rotary Club of Anaheim's and Anaheim Boys & Girls Club websites we will send the story and pictures to promote the Rotary club of Anaheim and our community project to Coast Kids, Coast Magazine, Orange County Registers, OC Weekly and the Fullerton News Tribune. Club members will be wearing their Rotary shirts when working on this project.
