Project Description Country: USA Location: La Habra Total Budget: $6,613 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: General Summary: 250 backpacks provided for school age children in need in the La Habra CA area Community Service project to provide 250 backpacks, with necessary school essential supplies, to students in need in the La Habra and Lowell Joint School Districts. "Operation Backpack" will begin with the new school year approximately August 15, 2015, after the grant is approved, and end approximately August 31, 2015. Each member of La Habra Rotary will participate in this worthwhile project through purchasing, assembling the backpacks and delivery to the students. The average cost of $26.45 per backpack will allow La Habra Rotary Club to purchase 250 backpacks.
