Summary: Educating Middle and High School Students, Parents and Teachers on recognizing signs of sex trafficking
To reach six schools in the first six months. Our program will target middle schools and high schools in East County and City of San Diego. We will educate students, parents and school facilitators in preventing the trafficking of children and recognizing signs of the psychological manipulation, drug use, and violence utilized by traffickers. We will also invite speakers, hear testimonies, and facilitate panel discussions around how teachers, administrators, parents, students, and all members of the community can work together to eliminate sex trafficking. Funds will be used for facility rental, film screening, guest speakers, printing and materials and compensation for a human trafficking coordinator.
Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed)
These program will reach 12 schools in the year 2015-2016. In the description above the term "compensation" was included inadvertently. As shown in the budget, there is no compensation for a coordinator or instructors.
