Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Escondido, CA

Total Budget: $500

Areas of Focus: Maternal and child health, Basic education and literacy, Economic and community development

Activity Type: Community Development: General

Summary: Providing Christmas stockings for underprivelaged children ages 4 months to 4 years of age

Each year the Escondido East Rotary Club provides and delivers Christmas stockings for children at the Escondido Community Child Development Center (ECCDC) Lorraine Boyce Campus. The club meets at the site and delivers gifts of toys, school items, and books to the children, passed out by Santa Claus (club member Richard Conner). ECCDC has three child development centers and we have never been able to provide the gifts for all three centers. With a matching grant from District 5340, Escondido East Rotary would be able to ensure that close to 350 underprivileged children will receive gifts. The funds received would be used to purchase the stockings and items.

The timeline is; Dec 4 All club members meet to stuff the stockings

Dec. 11 - Delivery of stockings to each ECCDC Child Development Center
