This project provided a computer lab for the Hazard Primary School of May Pen Jamaica. It will help to form the baseline for an expanded project in other locations in an upcoming Rotary year.

By providing a methodology for cost-effective battery-powered computing for schools, it could be transported to other developing countries. The project will build a portable 11 station computer network suitable for up to eight hours of battery-powered daily classroom use.

Minimal electrical power is required to recharge the battery-operated computers The network also included a laser printer, 2 blue tooth speakers, basic office software and 11 used digital cameras so as to support students in preparing for a broader range of possible future occupations .

All equipment was researched and purchased between October 2022 and January 2023. Two eClub members traveled from the USA to May Pen, Jamaica to meet with a third club member from May Pen to help set up the computer lab on the Hazard Primary School site.

A secure computer lab classroom was organized prior to arrival. The lab was set up and operational between January 10-13, 2023.
