Rotary Club: Kenai Project Title: Kenai Boys & Girls Club 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? The Kenai Rotary Club donated a total of $2000 to the Boys and Girls Club in Kenai. The staff at Boys & Girls Club (B&GC) worked with the Rotarians throughout the year to plan and prepare for an event that would teach the students about STEAM (Science, Technology. Engineering, Art, Math). The team for this project decided to buy Pinewood Derby car kits for the kids to build, plan, and race the cars for their summer 2023 program. The money was given to B&GC so that they could buy any materials needed for the students to do the building and planning. 2. How many people benefited from this project? 50+ 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? The biggest benefactors of this grant were the students. Students in elementary grades who may not have access to a project like this will get to partake just like any other kid in their class. The teachers for the summer program were also affected because they came into the year with a program. The Rotarians who have met this group and will continue to assist them will also benefit from this project. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 10 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. Many Rotarians were in the first meeting with the club to discuss how the event could work. After deciding to build the race into their summer program, B&GC has invited any Rotarians to apply to volunteer with their summer and after-school programs. 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? 7. Income
