Rotary Club: Solana Beach Project Title: Model UN 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? Model UN is for High School students to participate in teams of two in a United Nations debate setting. The teams drew a country in Jan. 2023. Our one team from Cal Coast Academy pulled Rwanda and spent 2 months learning about it's history, culture and political positions. Two United Nations Resolutions were chosen by the Secretariat for the teams to study: 1.) Specific Actions to Address Global Food Insecurity and its Impact on Women and 2.) Prevention of an Arms Race and Continued Peaceful and Sustainable Space Exploration. This year all of the teams also wrote the amendments to Resolution #2. Each team member will present a 1.5 minute speech representing Rwanda on one of the Resolutions at the debate on April 1 & 2, 2023 at the Del Mar City Hall.
