Project Title: Scholarships for HS Graduates


Project Description

1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place?

Distribution of high school scholarships in the form of gift cards to 3 youth from San Diego Workforce Innovation High School (Learn4Life concept charter) on May 4th at Pier 32.

(each in the amount of $500 with an additional activation fee of $20, for a total transaction of $520 X 3 cleared via Rite Aid transaction $1,560).

2. How many people benefited from this project? 3

3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met?

3 high school students who are low income (Chalina S., Abimael R., Gabriela U.) were able to receive their post-secondary scholarships of $ 500 each. This is to support post-secondary necessities.

4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 10

5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project.

Selection of youth, coordination of the event, support at the event as well as going to purchase the gift cards for youth.
