Rotary Club: Fallbrook Village Project Title: Fuesd Esports 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? The 12 Nintendos Switches with Neon Blue and Neon Red Joy‑Cons and Fallbrook Village stickers were obtained by Rotarians. Our youngest Rotarian -- in her Cinderella garb -- applied the stickers to the Nintendo Switches' charging stations. The Rotarians delivered the 12 Nintendos Switches with Neon Blue and Neon Red Joy‑Cons and stickers to the Fallbrook Elementary School District's IT Department for use by the gaming teams. 2. How many people benefited from this project? 12 or more students using the gaming systems. 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? The beneficiaries were the students who had access to the gaming systems for esports. Esports participants play team-based popular video games between opposing sides with Nintendo Switches. Using online gaming teams, K-12 students gain leadership skills, learn about teamwork, increase communication experience, and develop social-emotional well-being. Providing more Nintendo Switches will allow continued play for students to increase their interpersonal skills and experience in potential future careers. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? six 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. Rotarians worked with the Fallbrook Elementary School District IT department to figure out the best technical solution to support the students. Rotarians also researched the best priced option with the right play modes, capabilities, and screen capabilities. Additional vendors were considered by the Rotary club. 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? The cooperating organization was the Fallbrook Elementary School District IT Department. The IT Department worked with Rotarians to figure out which technology would suit the students -- more chrome books, more games or additional switches. They will manage the delivery of the switches to the students to the additional students who can play esports. 7. Income
