The Rotary global Scholar, Samuel Olabode is a passionate inter-cultural expert with cross disciplinary interest in Community development,Improved Agricultural production and innovation with strong interest in pursuing a designated emphasis in community development, poverty alleviation and natural resource management in local and diverse settings leading to inclusive and sustainable economic growth , He plans to use the Rotary Global Scholarship grant to further his course especially with respect to a key Area of Focus of Rotary (Economic and Community Development/Basic Education and Literacy).As an agent of change, He has a strong desire to correct major deficiencies he has perceived in my immediate environment and strongly believes that a Global Scholarship grant will be a catalyst to achieving his set goals to better his community.
As a Research Instructor working in the area of Rural and Community development,he believes a Master of Rural Development from The University of Queensland, Brisbane,Australianin the 2016 academic session (18 Months)will enhance his knowledge and skills and help him apply his leadership, research and problem solving skills to meet the global/local challenges associated with feeding the world,alleviating poverty and maintaining our environment in situations of increasing community expectations of animal welfare, biosecurity concerns, and competition for limited resources. He will develop practical knowledge and skills needed to to analyse, plan, implement and evaluate Community development, rural development, agricultural extension, and stakeholder engagement programs and activities.
