Project Description

Region: South-East Asia

Country: India

Location: Asansol,West Bengal

Total Budget: $60,767

Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment

Detailed project Description:

How project needs were identified:

Now a days, no Doctor prescribes medicines to any patient without proper pathological Tests along with Clinical Examinations. Pathological Tests have become very costly now. It has been observed that many under privileged patients go to Doctors but cannot afford those costly Pathological Tests prescribed by the Doctor. As a result, they are not properly diagnosed and their sufferings continue without proper medicines.

Considering this, we, the Rotarians of Rotary Club of Asansol Greater, thought of setting up a Pathological Centre where those poor and needy patients will have their Pathological Tests with subsidized rates and free of cost whenever needed. This will facilitate them with proper treatment.

Moreover, there is not a single Pathology Cenrte in and around our locality with such subsidized/free facilities for the same.

As such, for the betterment of such needy persons, a Pathology Centre is very much required to fulfill the needs of such deprived patients.

Who and how many people will benefit from this project:

All the poor and needy patients of Asansol, Burnpur, Ranigunj, Jamuria, Sitarampur, Kulti, Barakar, Chittaranjan and adjoining areas including part of neighboring States of Jharkhand will have access to this Pathology Centre and will get the benefit.

About 11,000 patients will get benefit from this Pathology Center per year.

Who will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining this Project if applicable:

Rotary Club of Asansol Greater has formed a Trustee Board namely "Asansol Greater Rotary Trust"

The Pathology Center will be looked after by the members of this Trustee Board.

Also, all 43 members of our club including one Pathologist have agreed to provide their services.

How acquired Contributions will be used if the contribution goals are not met in full:

We are a developing Country and we need financial help from a Foreign Country for a noble cause like this. We will request foreign partners to please help us in our noble Endeavor.
