Global Scholarship for a Master of Public Administration - International Development. The curribulum is related to the economic and community development area of focus. A related project component will be carried out in conjunction with the Akola Project, a women's empowerment organization with whom Lauren is currently employed in Uganda.

The curriculum through the University of York in the UK, is designed to be delivered online so that as the student is receiving the academic training, the knowledge can be applied and reinforces in the field in a real world application.

Aug 1, 2017 - Scholar Lauren - visited HEB Rotary and provided an update on her Studies and her non-Profit work with Akola.

She also spoke recently at the Jinja Rotary Club in Uganda.

Approved: Lauren's proposal to use $3,000 of her scholarship funds to provide computers to Akola and improving worker productivity and skill.

After four years of humanitarian service in Uganda, Lauren returned to the US in December 2017. Over the last year, she was the first Global Scholar to complete course work via internet from her remote assignment in Africa. She has now ended her scholarship and taken a position in Washington DC with an agency dealing with Human Trafficking. All unused scholarship funds have been returned to the Rotary Foundation.
