Tele medicine: for the improvement of rural health in India
60% population of India live in villages.Health infrastructure is not sufficient to fulfill the current needs.Patient to doctor ration is uneven so rural health is hampered.
Project outline: 1] setting up of a health hub with net facility and will act as the center where little advance tests can be performed on patients 2] Appoining health workers from the villages who will go to the doorsteps of a villager carrying handheld robust equipments to carry our basic tests.They will upload the data using tablets.For further testing if required will guide the patient to go to the health hub.3] Doctor sitting at the remote place(district hospital in the city) will see the test reports sent by health worker.Suggest the therapy and will send the e-prescription.4]health worker will deliver the report and e-prescription to the patient5] for major health problem patients will be guided to visit district hospital
Project funds will be used to set health hub and for the vigorous training of the health workers.Also the funds will be utilized for cloud setting,for the purchase of hand held medical devices and tablets to enter the test readings.Also video conferencing facility will be set up so that doctors from the district place can take training of the public health sector doctors to upgrade them on newer diagnostics and treatment modalities.
Rotarians from the host club will be involved to get connected with the NGO working in the villages to select the health workers.Also rotary club will work towards selection of the district hospital and engaging doctors who can train the doctors from rural set up.Rotarian s will be involved in engaging the company who can set the health hub and deliver the equipments.
