Project Description Region: Africa Country: Nigeria Location: Ibadan Total Budget: $42,000 Areas of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment, Maternal and child health After a needs of assessment to a National blood bank center in our community, we discovered that government has stopped funding the blood bank and the most pressing issue is powering the blood bank due to high cost of fueling the generating set and bad power supply in Nigeria as a whole, and this is only Zonal national blood bank in our region part of Nigeria which give blood to Sick victims, women in need of blood during labour (maternal health), Internal displaced people in camps (insurgents and boko haram victims) in other parts of the country, natural and artificial disaster victims, accidentally victims and so on all over the zone and the country as a whole, the estimated cost for the cost of project is about $42,000 and the club wishes to execute the project within shortest period of time (3months) the project committee are Rotary club of Iyaganku-Ibadan, National blood transfusion service, federal and state ministry of health, Volunteer blood donors representative, Nigeria medical association, private medical practitioners, and so on.To maintain sub stainability for this project the solution is provision of Solar powered Inverter to generate a constant power supply for the national blood center.
