Project Description Region: Asia Country: Nepal Location: Butwal Total Budget: $79,000 Area of Focus: Water, sanitation and hygiene This Global Grant will benefit approximately 4000 girls and boys in various schools and district 3292. This proposal will benefit specially to the students studying in free/minimal fee schools. Most of the girls of the age 12-14 yrs will drop out of school because of the sanitation problem and they will never catch up to the schooling and they will wind up getting married and without even finishing the schooling. Besides the toilet facility problems some of the schools do not have even running water to the bathrooms.90% of the schools do not even adequate hand washing for sanitation. this project will be directed for over 10 schools which will increase the attendance resulting in more people graduating. Many students use the bushes, roadside drainage or compound walls will have access to proper hygiene facilities. The Rotarians and the Rotractors also will be attending the training to how to wash their hands which will result in less infectious diseases like cholera.
