The Barretos Cancer Hospital - Jales Unit, is considered a national reference center for the treatment of cancer, with 100% of patients from the public health system (SUS). The Jales Unit was created with the purpose of decentralizing the health care at Barretos Cancer Hospital, located approximately 250 km from Jales)and bring cancer treatment closer to patients in the northwest region of the of São Paulo, serving 92 municipalities of this region, covering approximately 1,000,000 inhabitants. The Jales unit was inaugurated in June of 2010 and today carries about 1,000 daily visits. In 2014 it was performed 357,765 outpatient consultations, 6,813 large and small surgeries and in addition to chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Today the Jales unit has 35 physicians in their clinical staff, 320 employees and is constantly growing.
The number of new cases of colon and rectal cancer estimated for Brazil in 2016 is 16,660 cases in men and 17,620 in women.
To the request in question, we justify that despite all the demand, we do not have mobile acquisition system images "C-arm". With this device we can do different procedures such as:
- Conducting percutaneous procedures such as biliary drainage; placement of esophageal prostheses, bile, percutaneous gastrostomy, drainage of abscess cavity, nephrostomies Percutaneous.
- Vascular procedures such as placement of a vena cava filter, diagnostic procedures, tumor embolization and etc.
- Realization of endoscopic procedures such as biliary prostheses derivation thereof, diagnostic procedures such as endoscopic retrograde cholangiography, guidewire positioning, placement of esophageal prostheses.
- Urological procedures such as placement of catheter double "J", pyelography, nephrostomies.
- Surgical procedures as Intraoperative cholangiography catheter placement porth-a-cath.
Today, some of these procedures are performed partially or our patients are moved to the II unit (250km away) due to absence of this device. We have medical experts who are able to work with this apparatus as Interventional Radiologist, therapeutic endoscopist, urologists and surgeons.
Today, the Jales Unit has 26 doctors in its clinical staff, 323 employees and is growing steadly, and it is of fundamental importance to partner with the Government of the State of Sao Paulo, since we have 100% of the SUS service benefiting this entire region, which encompasses approximately 1,144,594 inhabitants in the State of Sao Paulo alone, as well as in other states. It is to meet this demand that we present the ARCO SURGICAL PROJETC. The Surgical Arc will allow an increase in safety in the surgical procedure by 80% and increase by up 50% the number of surgeries to be performed.
The purchase of the surgical arch is still in progress. We are trying partners to finish. We are negotiating with a Taiwanese district, but there are still more international partners, since of the $ 185,000 budgeted, there are still 32,000 dollars left. We have the help of this site to find partners. appreciate.

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
