Proposal Form

The 4630 Rotary District Rotary Club Maringá Colombo is looking for partners and people who care about Autism. This Project aims at obtaining physiotherapy equipment, as well as building a 7-hole golf Field at AMA - Associação Maringaense dos Autistas - an association which assists and offers autist children and adults health assistance. AMA has been operating for 22 years in Maringá, State of Paraná in the South of Brazil.

AMA currently attends 95 people with Autism Spectrum who live in Maringá and come from other 08 towns in the region. It counts on the service of convenio with the University Ingá with physical education teachers, physical therapy, speech therapists, occupational therapists, health care professionals, as well as a large number of volunteers.

Autists can largely benefit from physical education practice, what enhances their muscle and bone structure as well as their balance.

The Physical Education professionals and interns from a local university have developed intense physical exercise protocols with AMA autists, but they need more effective equipment. AMA needs now a vibrating platform, among other physioterapeutical equipment such as ergomégtricas bikes, treadmills, weight station , adductor and abductor conjugate elliptic and accessories. We also need synthetic grass and execution of deployment services Gulf-7 field.

All equipment will to help AMA's autists relax their body, activate their muscle contractions and increase blood flow, which will enhance their muscle strengthening.

Research shows that vibration improves the oxygen-carrying capacity. It also burns accumulated fat by stimulating the lymphatic reflux, and thus improves the structure and functioning of the cardiovascular system and muscle rehabilitation, one of the great physical difficulties of autistic people.Vibration also allows greater muscle contraction in the exercised region without causing pain or discomfort in the muscle, resulting in an increase in bone density and mass and muscle strength.

The building of a 7-hole golf Field in the area of the institution will improve AMA's autists quality of life in the way they will have the chance to improve their relationships with other players, as well as their strength, agility, motor coordination and balance, in the open air. It can also stimulate speech and motor repertoire. The municipality and private gyms do not offer proper space for the practice of physical ecercises or technical support that meet autists'needs. The institution premisses offer the necessary area to build the 7-hole golf field, as well as the sport's practice and assistance.
