HEALTH FOR CHILDREN USERS WHEELCHAIR.

The goal of this project is to promote the sports practice to children wheelchairs users, fighting sedentarism, the most important cause of another diseases in this population. We will acquire 25 wheelchairs to sports practice and we will offer four scolarschips to studentes from nursing, physiotherapy and physical education . Also spare parts will be acquired to maintenance service the chairs for two years.

The expectance will be attend from 50 to 100 children.

The necessity of attendance of this sector was identified in project to adults and young wheelchair users, where periodically there is looking for activities for child wheelchair users.

Actually there is some children participating in activities uncompetitive and our intention is extend offer, once studies pointing the obesity as the principal consequence of utilization of wheelchair and the sedentarism as the bigger risk factor to diseases comorbities associated with disability - circulatory disfunctions, cardiacs, respiratories, digestive, urinary and others.

We have two partners: the Maringá State University - UEM, the place where the activities are practice and the UMPM - Parasports Maringa Metropolitan Union, institution that provide resources to participate in competitions.

The Rotary Club Maringá Velho will be responsible for fundraising and check the execution of the activities. UEM will provide human resources to work in project and UMPM will be responsible by enabling the participation in competitions.
