OBJETIVES FOR THIS PROJECT
Provide PROGRESAR School's new owned installations, with special equipment and supplies for disabled children with special needs from low-income levels, in the academic formation and educating them to be self-sufficient in their adult life. These equipment and supplies are Equipment for Therapy, Classroom furniture and specialties, Kitchen equipment, TVs, DVDs, etc.
The school has been operating in leased installations for 21 years. Our clubs goal is to help the school in continuing to provide this important and much needed service, in the contribution of our members by helping to educate the children in the school activities.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The construction of the PROGRESAR own school, (land was donated in 2011), has been funded by local Colombian companies with USD 450.000. However, in addition to this, the funding for the equipment/supplies for the new school is needed for USD 99.700. The project will need the equipment/supplies starting by mid-October 2016.
The new school will have a capacity to accommodate 500 students. At this moment, they can only handle 60 students in the present-leased facilities.
Rotarians are involved in providing on site help for the school faculty in the daily activities.
SUSTAINABILITY
The community is involved through the nonprofit Foundation Esperanza Mariana. This foundation guarantees the continuity of Progresar School. They finance the operational and maintenance costs of the school.
Thanks for your support; our clubs will help the community to solve their most important needs.
