Project Description Region: Eastern Europe Country: Turkey Location: Mersin Total Budget: $30,000 Areas of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment, Maternal and child health Project: Medical Equipment for healthy hearts. During the Rotary term of 2016-2017, Mersin Lamos Rotary Club has been working on a Rotary Global Grant to provide funding for medical equipment which is much needed within the boundaries of the Mersin province for Pediatric Cardiology Department in Mersin University Faculty of Medicine in Turkey.This hospital is a new building and needs new equipment to improve the quality of healthcare given to the community. Our project aims to provide the equipment required to fulfill the needs of the hospital and its patients. This equipment will be helpful for children in need and also it will be used by the students in academic studies in medical school research hospital.The current equipment available at Mersin University Faculty of Medicine Hospital does not include an Intensive Care unit for cardio patients, thus limiting its ability to deliver proper care to children in need of heart illnesses. This Global Grant effort will supply the hospital with approximately $30,000 in much-needed medical equipment.Mersin Lamos Rotary Club is asking for your financial commitment to this project to "Be a Gift to the World."
