The objective of this grant is to fight school dropout and to boost education rates by helping and organizing the community and local companies and to outfit cafeterias in 3 local identified needed elementary schools in the outskirts of Mexicali, Mexico. The purpose is to teach nutrition to the students and parents. After the training in food preparation the participating parents will be qualified to get jobs in the food preparation industry.
Each year those who will benefit from this grant are 120 parents of approximately 500 indigent elementary school children in the area surrounding the greater Mexicali community. This Grant provides hours of training in large quantity food preparation.
The knowledge and experience prepares the participating parents for jobs in the food services industry. Approximately 100,000 nutritious meals will be provided per year preventing school dropouts and increasing their childrens' educational learning.

DDF contributions in grey are pending approval of the corresponding district committee.
Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
