Project Description

Region: South America

Country: Montevideo

Location: Montevideo

Total Budget: $30,375

Area of Focus: Community economic development

The project involves the acquisition of the necessary elements for equipping a Electronics Laboratory of Physics, Chemistry and Theoretical Classrooms for the creation of a Renewable Energy Laboratory. The same is due to the formation of graduates of Vocational Technical School in the Office of Renewable Energy. Since the country is doomed to change its energy matrix and is turned to the installation of renewable energy (wind, solar, etc.), training new technicians involve in a community of impoverished youth the possibility to obtain sufficient studies to manage this activity. Moreover, the State agency responsible for the generation and distribution of Electric Power will buy from small producers of renewable energy it produced thereby generate new jobs and a serious possibility of inclusion of young people in the labor market. As for the beneficiaries of the program, on the one hand the Professional School of Columbus, created from the academic year 2017, the School Technician Renewable Energy whose duration is 3 years, it is estimated that initially the beneficiaries will be 30 -40 and on the other hand we can estimate that from the 3rd. graduating year when they start to produce renewable energy and the beneficiaries will be the population as this will allow the drop in the price of consumption.

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
